Indiana-based Griffin McAtee is a jazz saxophonist and multi-instrumentalist with over 10 years of experience. Griffin is in his fourth year of his Bachelor of Music in Jazz Studies at Ball State University, where he studies under Mark Buselli and Sean Imboden. He is in the top jazz band. His instruments include alto, tenor, and soprano saxophones, flute, and clarinet. He has performed internationally at the Concepción/Dichato Jazz Festival with Ball State Jazz 1 in Chile. Across the Midwest, he has performed at Carmel Jazz Festival, Bitter Jester Music Festival, and Lafayette Jazz and Blues Festival, and played reeds for Center Grove and Edgewood show choirs.
Griffin has written and recorded music for two short films, "Sizzle," which premiered at the 2025 Indy Shorts Film Festival, and "Brothers."
Griffin highly enjoys teaching and offers in-person and virtual lessons covering Saxophone, Flute, Clarinet, Jazz Improvisation, and Music Theory. Click here if interested. As an educator, he gave a saxophone masterclass in Chile to students of many different ages and skill levels.
